Lock Lubricant Causes Quality Problems

Details The manufacturing plant in this mystery made cylinder locks. One step in the operation was to coat the various lock parts for with a light oil spray to provide a long-lasting lubrication to ensure that the locks would function smoothly for years. The oil was dissolved in solvent so that a very fine film would remain on the parts after the solvent evaporated. The process worked well for many years until a new supervisor arrived.
